Proslava desetogodišnjice proboja solunskog fronta održana je u Beogradu
7 i 8 Oktobra 1928. godine, uz učešće vojnih delegacija savezničkih
zemalja Francuske, Italije, Velike Britanije, Belgije, Rumunije,
Snimatelji Vojno geografskog instituta, nastavljači Filmske Sekcije
najviši oficiri i gradonačelnik Beograda Kosta Kumanudi, zatim polaganje
Celebration of the 10th
anniversary of breaking-out the Thessaloniki front was held in Belgrade
on the 7th and 8th October 1928 with participation of military
delegations of the Allied countries – France, Italy, Great Britain,
Belgium, Romania, Czechoslovakia, which were led by the renowned army
commander Franchet D`Espčrey. Cinematographers of the Military
Geographical Institute, continuators of Film department of the Serbian
army, established during the very Thessaloniki front, recorded this
event. Unfortunately, only the first part of the film was saved:
reception of foreign delegations at Belgrade railway station, welcomed
by the highest ranked officers and the Mayor of Belgrade Kosta Kumanudi,
laying of foundation stone for Home for the Invalid War Veterans,
celebration procession through the streets of Belgrade. Parade was
headed by war invalid veterans followed by the delegations of the
peoples from the whole country, the Chetniks, old soldiers with medals,
female members of the Red Cross, scouts, etc. In the honour of this
event, Belgrade city municipality organized a formal opening of the new
stairs in Kalemegdan Park, attended by a great number of people.
