Opis filma
Posle prvog svetskog rata, dvojica drugova, demobilisanih oficira,
nosilaca najviših odlikovanja za hrabrost, vraćaju se mirnodopskom
životu. Prvi postaje komandant žandarmerije, a drugi nalazi razoreno
ognjište koje pokušava da oživi. Međutim, dolazi u sukob sa gazdom kod
kojeg radi, nekadašnjim ratnim profiterom, biva uhapšen, ali beži iz
zatvora. Zbog toga postaje odmetnik progonjen od vlasti. Njegov ratni
drug, novopečeni žandar, nađe se u ulozi prgonitelja svog najbližeg
prijatelja sa fronta.
After the World War I, two friends and
discharged officers, holders of the highest orders of bravery, return to
the peacetime life. The first one becomes the commander of Gendarmerie,
and the other finds the ruined home which he tries to revive. However,
he gets into a conflict with the master for whom he works (the former
war profiteer) and he gets arrested, but manages to escape from the
prison. That is why he becomes the outlaw, pursued by the authorities.
His war comrade, the fledgling constable, finds himself in a role of the
persecutor of his closest friend from the front.
